TATA Trust and WCCD have invited the City of Pune to become one of the ISO 37120 certified city. It would be an honor for us to join the global network of certified cities and would provide an opportunity to reassess quality of our city data. This initiative of Tata trusts, in partnership with the World Council of city Data (WCCD) with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) analytical support becomes more relevant as Pune under Smart City challenge is working towards providing quality life to its citizens.
The City Data for India initiative seems to be a great platform towards implementation of the Government of India’s Smart Cities Mission, Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) and Swachh Bharat Mission. As rightly mentioned it is a need and a necessity to create a “culture of data” to take more objective and informed decisions.
The WCCD’s initiative for creating learning partnerships across cities, international organizations, corporate partners, and academia to further innovation and build better and more livable cities is what PMC is looking forward with its e-governance and Smart city project. We would like to see Pune among the list of cities provided which are ISO 37120 certified and be among the three Indian cities joining this growing international network.
